Mauigoa (quadriceps) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Lions, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Mauigoa has not practiced since he sustained a quadriceps injury in the Jets' Week 2 overtime loss to the Packers. The outside linebacker will need another player to take over his special-teams snaps as he continues to recover from the injury.
