The Commanders released Ford (undisclosed) with an injury settlement Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Ford was placed on the Commanders' injured reserve list last Tuesday with an unknown issue. The running back likely thinks he can make a full recovery and sign with another franchise during the 2026 season. Ford is now a free agent and will likely seek out a new franchise to provide rushing and special teams depth.
