The Jaguars placed Carey (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday, Mike Kaye of FirstCoastNews.com reports.
Carey was looking to earn a role providing depth in the secondary for the Jaguars before going down with a hamstring injury. He will spend the season on the sidelines unless he and the team ultimately reach an injury settlement.
