The Panthers signed Smith-Marsette to the practice squad Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Smith-Marsette returns to the practice squad shortly after being released Sept. 15. The veteran receiver/returner will provide organizational depth for the Panthers as the season unfolds.
