Vereen will reprise his role as the team's primary pass-catching back in 2016.
Rashad Jennings will see most of the early-down work, but Vereen is locked in on third downs and should eclipse 50 receptions again if he stays healthy. Should something happen to Jennings, however, there's little chance Vereen would see a significantly larger role. He'd likely remain the third-down option while Paul Perkins or one of the other candidates took over. That makes Vereen mainly useful in full PPR formats only.
