Barkley (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Barkley is approaching the end of his recovery program for the torn ACL and MCL he suffered in his right knee Week 2 of last season. He cleared one of the final hurdles last Thursday when he took contact in practice. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Monday that Barkley is expected to be a part of the Giants' game plan in the season opener, but his eventual snap count on offense may not approach the 80-plus percent threshold he's accustomed to in his career, when healthy. If Barkley does yield some reps Sunday against the Broncos, Devontae Booker and rookie Gary Brightwell are on hand for touches out of the backfield.
