Barkley (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
As Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reported on Saturday, Barkley will make his first appearance since tearing the ACL and MCL in his right knee Week 2 of last season. But it appears as if his workload will be capped, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network noted Sunday morning that Barkley will be eased into things with Giants kicking off the campaign with two games in five days. As a result, Barkley likely won't approach the 20.8 touches per game that he handled through the first three years of his career. Devontae Booker and rookie Gary Brightwell are on hand for any reps that don't go to Barkley.
