Powell has opted to retire from the NFL, Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Powell was signed by the Eagles in mid-May, as he was expected to provide the team with a depth option at linebacker. Instead of playing through this season, he's opted to retire, so he'll finish his two-year career with 23 total tackles and a sack over 19 games. Powell missed the 2015 season with a torn ACL, so that injury may have played a factor in his decision to retire.
