Mathews gained 56 yards on 14 carries and turned his only target into a 27-yard gain during Sunday's game against the Vikings. He also lost a fumble in the 21-10 win.

Mathews averaged four yards per carry as he received his highest number of carries since Week 1, and he finished second on the team in receiving despite seeing just one target. Darren Sproles and Wendell Smallwood combined for nine touches as Mathews claimed 63 percent of the backfield share. The fumble was Mathews' second in three weeks and he will need to improve in that area if he wants to retain his edge in usage over the Eagles' other backs. He should receive the majority of the carries again in Week 8 versus the Cowboys.
