Drake totaled 12 yards and a touchdown on two carries and hauled in both of his targets for six yards in Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Patriots.
The third-round rookie from Alabama received some extra run after Arian Foster exited the game for good in the second quarter and acquitted himself reasonably well in his limited opportunities. Drake also notably received a key red-zone opportunity midway through the fourth quarter and parlayed it into a nifty seven-yard touchdown run, bringing the Dolphins to within 31-24 with 6:06 remaining. The 22-year-old flashed some play-making ability on the ground in college, averaging 6.4 yards per tote and totaling 1495 yards on 233 carries through 41 games for the Crimson Tide, while adding another 570 yards on 46 receptions. With the very real possibility that Foster's hamstring injury could linger into Week 3, Drake stands to potentially see an expanded role in coming weeks.
