Head coach Mike McDaniel noted Wednesday that Waddle is dealing with a high-ankle sprain that isn't "overly severe," Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Though high-ankle injuries often force at least one-game absences for players like Waddle who are highly reliant on speed and the ability to change direction, McDaniel isn't yet discounting the possibility of the receiver being able to play Sunday against the Ravens. That said, Waddle's practice participation this week will be affected by the ankle issue, and he seems likely to carry an injury designation into the weekend if he isn't ruled out for the game at the conclusion of Friday's practice. If Waddle ends up sidelined for Week 17, Cedrick Wilson and Braxton Berrios would likely be next in line for added reps behind top receiver Tyreek Hill.
