Head coach Jeff Hafley told reporters Saturday that Bell (knee) is "close" to being cleared to fully participate in practice, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.

Bell has not played in either of the Dolphins' first two preseason games, but he took a positive step in his recovery program by being activated from the active/non-football injury list Monday. He's in the final stages of his recovery from a torn ACL in his left knee that he underwent surgery for in December, and the rookie third-rounder has an outside chance of being available for the Dolphins' preseason finale against the Falcons on Friday.
