Amerson was released by the Cardinals on Saturday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Amerson signed with Arizona earlier in the week, but was let go as the team needed to add depth at kicker and defensive end. Urban indicates the 26-year-old could re-sign with the team next week, depending on the injury situation.
