The Cowboys placed Fant (knee) on injured reserve Thursday.
Fant suffered a torn ACL and sprained MCL injury, decimating any chance for the tight end to participate in the 2026 season. He is scheduled to have surgery for the issues within the next several days. The fourth-year player out of Tennessee has played in 11 career games and will be a free agent once again in 2027. In a corresponding move, the Cowboys claimed tight end Zack Kuntz off waivers from the Raiders.
