Harold Henderson, the arbitrator in Elliott's hearing for his appeal of a six-game suspension, has informed the NFL and NFLPA that he plans to reach a decision later Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.
It's expected that Henderson's ruling on Elliott's suspension will arrive before the close of business Tuesday, the deadline for which Elliott's salary status for Week 1 would need be determined. More importantly, the appeals officer's decision could provide a long-awaited resolution as to whether Elliott's suspension will be reduced, vacated entirely or left unchanged. Elliott, who was officially suspended Aug. 11 for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, has continued to practice with the team in the event he does in fact receive clearance to play Week 1.
