Michael, who lost his starting job to C.J. Prosise last week, was waived by the Seahawks on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Dumping Michael is surprising in that he's started most of the year, but it's not entirely out of nowhere. Prosise, now healthy, vaulted himself ahead of Michael last week and Thomas Rawls (fibula) is expected to return this week, leaving little for Michael. And the team doesn't need four active running backs each week, so it would rather keep rookie Alex Collins than Michael, who has proven merely ordinary. Too often, Michael danced in the backfield instead of hitting holes and shied away from contact by stepping out of bounds. He's not a skilled receiver, either. Still, he'll likely be snapped up off the waiver wire by a team struggling to run the ball.
