The Chiefs signed Wright off their practice squad Wednesday.
With Spencer Shrader (hamstring) landing on injured reserve Wednesday in a corresponding move, Wright is slated to handle kicking duties for the Chiefs Sunday against the Chargers. Wright -- who had previously knocked down four of five field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point attempt in last Friday's 19-17 win over the Raiders -- may not hold on to the kicking job beyond this week, however. According to Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com, head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that Harrison Butker (knee) could be ready to return from IR and take back kicking duties as soon as Week 15 against the Browns.
