Cardinals' Chase Edmonds: Ready to practice, may play Week 14

Arizona designated Edmonds (ankle) for return from injured reserve Thursday, opening up a 21-day practice window in which he can be evaluated for a return to the 53-man roster, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Edmonds will be eligible to play as soon as Monday's game against the Rams, after he already missed the requisite three games while on IR due to a high-ankle sprain suffered Nov. 7 against the 49ers. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury suggested the running back will have a fair chance at returning to action Week 14, but the Cardinals will likely delay any decision about Edmonds' availability until seeing how he checks out during practices Thursday through Saturday. Whether he's reinstated from IR this week or later down the road, Edmonds will likely step back into a timeshare out of the backfield with James Conner, who has taken on a three-down role while the former has been sidelined for the past month.
