Ellington, who switched to the wide receiver position earlier in the offseason, has moved back to running back, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.
Ellington had originally planned to move to wide receiver after experiencing a huge reduction in snaps throughout the past two seasons due to the emergence of stud RB David Johnson. Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Ellington needs to work on running tougher and not going down as easy after a 2016 campaign in which he averaged just 2.8 yards per carry on 34 attempts. With Ellington no longer in the conversation at wideout, 2017 third-round pick Chad Williams could see additional work in training camp.
