Felton is expected to take on added reps as a slot receiver during the Browns' next three games after Jarvis Landry (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "We are excited about Demetric," head coach Kevin Stefanski said. "He has worked really hard throughout the spring and summer. As you guys have seen, he has been in the running back room and in the wide receiver room."
After playing exclusively on special teams in a Week 1 loss to Kansas City, Felton provided a spark for the Browns on only three offensive snaps in a Week 2 win over the Texans. The rookie sixth-round pick out of UCLA was targeted twice during his limited time on the field, hauling in both looks for 51 yards and gaining most of his real estate after the catch. Though Felton is listed on the Browns' unofficial depth chart as a running back, he has plenty of experience playing out of the slot from his college days. Along with Felton, Odell Beckham (knee) -- who could make his season debut Sunday -- and fellow wideouts Donovan Peoples-Jones, Rashard Higgins and Anthony Schwartz should absorb most of Landry's vacated target volume, although Stefanski could also make more use of two-tight end sets.
