Bills' Devin Singletary: Effective as starter

Singletary rushed eight times for 42 yards and caught a six-yard touchdown on his only target in Friday's 16-15 preseason win over the Lions.

Singletary got the starting nod with Zack Moss (hamstring) sidelined, but the two are likely to work in a backfield platoon when both are healthy. Singletary was undeterred after having a 15-yard gain erased by a holding call on Buffalo's first offensive play, racking up 21 yards on his next two carries. Third-stringer Matt Breida also mixed in during the second quarter after Singletary had the backfield to himself in the first, but Singletary still provided the second quarter's biggest offensive play, hauling in a six-yard touchdown pass from Davis Webb. Singletary will likely see a similar workload in Week 2 of preseason against the Bears.
