Herbert rushed three times for 15 yards and a touchdown while adding a three-yard reception in the Bears' 41-15 preseason loss to the Bills on Saturday.
Herbert played with the second-team offense in the second half, and he took advantage of the mobility of Justin Fields, as the quarterback had the defense leaning in the wrong direction when Herbert converted a 13-yard touchdown run. While Tarik Cohen (knee) continues to miss time, Herbert seems to be tightening his grip on the No. 3 role in the Chicago backfield.
