Draughn (ribs) was held out of Thursday's preseason finale against the Chargers.
This move comes as no surprise considering Draughn had already been named the primary backup to Carlos Hyde (concussion), so the 49ers had no reason to risk re-injuring his ribs in a meaningless game. It sounds like he will be ready to go for the season opener against the Rams on Sept. 12, but he won't be more than a change-of-pace back so long as Hyde is healthy.
