Pineiro (illness) is expected to be active Sunday against the Dolphins, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The 49ers ended up trying out two kickers Saturday -- Greg Joseph and Younghoe Koo -- but won't sign either of them to the practice squad, meaning Pineiro will handle his normal placekicking duties in Week 2. In 15 regular-season games with San Francisco going back to the 2025 campaign, Pineiro has netted 30 of 32 field-goal attempts and 37 of 41 point-after tries.
