  • Clippers' Isaiah Jackson: Swats two shots Sunday

Jackson finished with four points (2-3 FG), four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 16 minutes during Sunday's 104-101 preseason win over the Warriors.

Jackson started over Brook Lopez and was limited to the first half as planned. The 24-year-old is competing with Lopez for the starting center job and has spent time with the first unit during training camp, making that battle worth monitoring throughout the preseason.

  • Warriors' Yaxel Lendeborg: Grabs nine boards Sunday

Lendeborg totaled four points (1-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one block in 19 minutes during Sunday's 104-101 preseason loss to the Clippers.

Lendeborg drew the start in his preseason debut and led Golden State on the glass despite struggling with his shot. Coach Steve Kerr said afterward that he wants the rookie to be more aggressive offensively, and Lendeborg's starting assignment suggests he's firmly in the mix for a significant role early in his first season.

  • Warriors' Charles Bassey: Productive off bench

Bassey finished with 12 points (6-10 FG, 0-2 FT), eight rebounds, two steals and one assist in 16 minutes during Sunday's 104-101 preseason loss to the Clippers.

Bassey made an immediate impact on the glass, grabbing six offensive rebounds while tying for the team lead in scoring. With Kristaps Porzingis (undisclosed) currently sidelined and Golden State potentially needing additional frontcourt depth, Bassey could make a case for rotation minutes with more performances like this.

  • Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Struggles in preseason

Podziemski recorded seven points (2-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 18 minutes during Sunday's 104-101 preseason loss to the Clippers.

Podziemski struggled from the field after earning a starting spot alongside Stephen Curry in Golden State's preseason opener. Despite the poor shooting performance, Podziemski appears positioned for a prominent role after a strong training camp, and coach Steve Kerr recently called him one of the Warriors' best players.

  • Alex Sarr C | WAS

Wizards' Alex Sarr: Progressing in recovery

Sarr (foot) is expected to begin contact work soon after undergoing surgery this offseason, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.

Sarr is nearing the next step in his recovery from surgery he underwent in mid-June to repair a fractured right foot. The Wizards planned to hold the big man out of contact drills during the first week of training camp, but he's expected to begin full-contact work soon. Sarr remains on track to be ready for the start of the regular season, though his availability for preseason action remains unclear.

  • Nuggets' Marvin Bagley: Grabs seven boards off bench

Bagley totaled five points (2-7 FG, 1-2 FT, 0-1 3Pt) and seven rebounds in 15 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 preseason loss to the Jazz.

After being acquired by Denver during the offseason, it appears as though Bagley could be in line to play the primary backup role behind Nikola Jokic. Despite a somewhat modest performance Sunday, Bagley was the first big off the bench, a role that could yield backend fantasy value, should it maintain for any length of time. Bagley has always struggled to deliver consistent fantasy value, seen more as a points league asset. For those in category leagues, he is best left for deeper formats.

  • Aaron Gordon PF | DEN

Nuggets' Aaron Gordon: Looks good in preseason hitout

Gordon totaled 12 points (4-8 FG, 3-3 FT, 1-3 3Pt) and four rebounds in 11 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 preseason loss to Utah.

Gordon was limited to just 11 minutes, although he looked good, particularly on the offensive end of the floor. After playing just 87 games over the past two seasons, Gordon's priority appears to be maintaining a healthy body this season, which can only mean good things for fantasy, at least in terms of his availability. While his best is probably behind him, Gordon's importance to this team can't be overstated. His overall skill set doesn't translate particularly well to fantasy, although he is a viable target in the later rounds, even in standard formats.

  • Nuggets' Julian Strawther: Drops 14 points off bench

Strawther recorded 14 points (6-13 FG, 1-2 FT, 1-6 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes during Sunday's preseason loss to the Jazz.

Despite coming off the bench, Strawther led the Nuggets with 14 points, while also logging a team-high 20 minutes. With Jamal Murray unavailable, Strawther made the most of his opportunity, as he pushed for more playing time on a team that needs offensive production. Although he has flashed some scoring upside throughout his career, Strawther has been mostly disappointing to this point. There is no indication he will see increased minutes this season, which makes him nothing more than a deeper league target. However, if he is put in a position where he is tasked with more offensive responsibility, he could be worth consideration as a short-term flier.

  • Jusuf Nurkic C | UTA

Jazz's Jusuf Nurkic: Limited minutes despite starting

Nurkic totaled four points (1-5 FG, 2-2 FT, 0-2 3Pt), five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 11 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 preseason win over the Nuggets.

Nurkic was given the starting nod Sunday, and yet played fewer minutes than newly acquired Jaxson Hayes, who ended with 19 minutes off the bench. All signs point to Nurkic being the starting center come opening night, putting him on the radar as a potential top-100 candidate. Although his role may not be reflective of what might be considered a typical starting role, his ability to put up numbers across the board should lend itself to multiple builds. Considering him as a third center in standard leagues feels relatively safe.

  • Jazz's Darryn Peterson: Team-high 22 minutes in win

Peterson accumulated three points (1-5 FG, 1-2 FT, 0-2 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 22 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 preseason victory over Denver.

Petersen made his NBA debut, sliding straight into the starting lineup, as expected. Although he struggled with his efficiency, the fact that he played a team-high 22 minutes is an encouraging sign. He should open the regular season as a key piece in the rotation, putting him firmly on the fantasy radar. As a rookie point guard, managers should expect some ups and downs when it comes to his shooting splits. However, his role alone should lend itself to plenty of opportunities, making him a viable target in the 100 range of drafts.
