  • Jalen Suggs PG | ORL

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Dealing with illness

Suggs remains under the weather but appears to be improving, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Coach Sean Sweeney said Sunday that Suggs can do "a little bit, but not much" at the moment, though the expectation is that he'll ramp up his activity soon. With Orlando's preseason opener against Memphis set for Wednesday, Suggs' participation over the next couple of practices should provide a better indication of his availability.

  • Svi Mykhailiuk SF | UTA

Jazz's Svi Mykhailiuk: Hits three triples

Mykhailiuk recorded nine points (3-9 FG, 3-8 3Pt), three assists and no turnovers in 15 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 109-97 preseason win over Denver.

Most of Mykhailiuk's field-goal attempts came from beyond the arc, and he knocked down three triples as Utah consistently generated open looks through ball movement. The veteran wing remains primarily a floor-spacing option in a crowded Jazz rotation.

  • Ace Bailey SG | UTA

Jazz's Ace Bailey: Scores 10 off bench

Bailey finished with 10 points (5-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), five rebounds, one steal and one block in 20 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 preseason win over Denver.

Bailey came off the bench behind rookie Darryn Peterson but entered the starting lineup for the second half and finished with a plus-11 rating. The second-year wing should remain firmly in Utah's rotation, and he could see heavy usage with the second unit.

  • Andre Jackson: Waived by Toronto

The Raptors waived Jackson on Monday, Esfandiar Baraheni of The Athletic reports.

Jackson was previously on an Exhibit 10 deal. Baraheni adds that Jackson is expected to suit up for Toronto's G League affiliate this season.

  • Blake Hinson SF | UTA

Jazz's Blake Hinson: Strong showing from deep

Hinson recorded 18 points (6-9 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 109-97 preseason win over Denver.

Hinson made a strong impression in Utah's preseason opener, with four of his six rebounds coming on the offensive glass in addition to his efficient perimeter shooting. The 26-year-old averaged 11.9 points and 2.6 three-pointers in just 20.4 minutes across 14 regular-season appearances last year, and performances like Sunday's could help him carve out a larger role in 2026-27.

  • Jakob Poeltl C | TOR

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Looks healthy in preseason

Poeltl finished with nine points (3-3 FG, 3-4 FT), one rebound, one assist, two steals and one block in 18 minutes during Saturday's 129-105 preseason loss to Miami.

Poeltl's production on the glass was limited, but the bigger takeaway was his health after back issues restricted him to 46 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. The veteran center overhauled his strength and conditioning routine during the offseason in hopes of putting the lingering issue behind him, and he's reportedly moving much better entering the new campaign.

  • Raptors' Collin Murray-Boyles: Aggressive offensively

Murray-Boyles finished with six points (3-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes during Saturday's 129-105 preseason loss to Miami.

Murray-Boyles was aggressive offensively despite struggling with his efficiency, with his 10 field-goal attempts ranking second on Toronto. The second-year forward also grabbed four offensive rebounds, and coach Darko Rajakovic recently praised his offseason development while indicating Murray-Boyles will see time at both power forward and center this season.

  • Raptors' Immanuel Quickley: Quiet in preseason debut

Quickley finished with five points (2-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three assists, two rebounds and one steal in 12 minutes during Saturday's 129-105 preseason loss to Miami.

Quickley started at point guard and was held out after halftime along with the rest of Toronto's primary starters. The 27-year-old remains positioned for a significant role after averaging 16.4 points, 5.9 assists and 4.0 rebounds across 70 regular-season appearances in 2025-26, though the return of Kawhi Leonard adds another high-usage option to Toronto's offense.

  • Heat's Tim Hardaway: Catches fire off bench

Hardaway finished with 14 points (4-4 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT) in 11 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 129-105 preseason win over Toronto.

Hardaway didn't miss a shot in his Heat preseason debut and finished tied for the team lead in scoring despite playing just 11 minutes. The veteran sharpshooter should provide Miami with valuable floor spacing off the bench after joining the club during the offseason, particularly alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.

  • Heat's Davion Mitchell: Starts preseason opener

Mitchell recorded three points (1-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt), four assists, one rebound and one steal in 13 minutes during Saturday's 129-105 preseason win over the Raptors.

Mitchell drew the start at point guard alongside Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo, and the entire starting unit was limited to first-half action. The 28-year-old appears to have the inside track on the starting point guard job after averaging 9.3 points and 6.5 assists across 28.6 minutes per game during the 2025-26 regular season.
