Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Lasts 2.2 frames in Game 2

Yoshinobu Yamamoto didn't factor into the decision Monday in Milwaukee after giving up three runs on four hits with one strikeout and two walks across 2.2 innings during Game 2 of the NLCS.The Japanese right-hander entered the contest with a 1.50 ERA and 0.75 WHIP in his past 10 postseason starts -- including a complete game with one run allowed in Game 2 of the NLCS in Milwaukee last year -- but the Brewers made things difficult Monday, fouling off 19 balls as he needed 75 pitches (46 strikes) to record just 11 outs. It's the shortest playoff outing of Yamamoto's career and came on the heels of a dominant performance in the NLDS, when he struck out 10 and allowed just one run over seven innings in Atlanta. The Los Angeles Dodgers will need to win at least two of the next three games in Los Angeles for him to get another start.

Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Punches out 10 in Game 3 win

Yoshinobu Yamamoto earned the win in Game 3 of the NLDS against Atlanta on Tuesday, striking out 10 and giving up one run on four hits and one walk over seven innings. The Japanese right-hander surrendered a run on two hits and a walk during the fifth inning, but he otherwise limited Atlanta to a pair of singles. It was Yamamoto's first appearance since his final start of the regular season Sept. 23 versus San Diego, but he showed no signs of rust while helping Los Angeles claim a 2-1 series lead. The 28-year-old could be available Friday if Atlanta is able to force a decisive Game 5, but it's more likely that he doesn't see the mound again until the NLCS, should the Los Angeles Dodgers advance.

Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Blanks Cincy for 14th win

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (14-8) picked up the win in Tuesday's 4-0 victory over the Reds, allowing one hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven. The right-hander uncharacteristically walked the first two batters he faced, but Yamamoto would let only one other batter reach base before exiting after 91 pitches (55 strikes). The quality start was his 21st of the season, tied for the major-league lead with the Marlins' Sandy Alcantara, and over 10 starts since the All-Star break, Yamamoto has reeled off a 1.98 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 72:16 K:BB in 68.1 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in what will likely be his final outing of the regular season, at home early next week against the Padres.

Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Tagged for four runs

Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Wednesday.Yamamoto cruised through five innings, but he gave up a pair of two-run homers over the last two frames of his start. That cost him a quality start, and the Los Angeles Dodgers' bullpen would ultimately falter when Tanner Scott failed to protect a lead in the eighth inning. Yamamoto had allowed just four runs over his previous four starts combined (24.1 innings), giving up only one homer in that span, though he was limited to a 1-1 record during that stretch. He's now at a 2.67 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 161:38 K:BB through 165 innings across 25 starts. His next outing is projected to be at home versus the Reds.

Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Takes loss in pitchers' duel with Sale

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (12-8) took the loss against Atlanta on Thursday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over 6.1 innings.Yamamoto's first pitch of the game was hit over the right-field wall by Drake Baldwin for a quick Atlanta lead. After that, Yamamoto was outstanding, allowing only four more baserunners and no more runs during his time in the contest. However, opposing starter Chris Sale throttled the Los Angeles Dodgers in a complete-game shutout to hand Yamamoto the loss. Yamamoto has been one of MLB's top pitchers again this season, ranking seventh among qualified hurlers with a 2.56 ERA and second with a 0.89 WHIP while posting a 153:36 K:BB over 158 innings spanning 24 starts.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed three hits, three walks and a hit batsman while striking out six over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Saturday.Yamamoto had covered at least six innings in each of his previous nine starts, but he fell an out short of that mark in a rare inefficient performance, throwing 62 of 107 pitches for strikes. On the bright side, it was his third scoreless outing in 21 starts this year, though a lack of run support left him without the win. Yamamoto has a stellar 2.65 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 127:32 K:BB through 139.1 innings on the year. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Brewers.
