De Los Santos was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after Monday's game against the Tigers. He allowed two unearned runs on two hits across two innings.
De Los Santos was brought in with two outs in the top of the second inning Monday and managed to escape a jam, but he gave up two runs in the top of the fourth following a costly error by Cody Bellinger. The Yankees will presumably bring up a fresh bullpen arm ahead of Tuesday's clash after using six relievers Monday night.
