Ford will be part of the Yankees' roster for the AL Wild Card Round against Cleveland.
Ford had very little success at the plate this season, hitting .135/.226/.270 in 84 plate appearances. He'll presumably be limited to pinch-hit duty because starting first baseman Luke Voit led the entire league with 22 homers.
