Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that German (shoulder) could be ready to face live hitters soon, Max Goodman of SI.com reports.
Boone's comments come a day after German threw a bullpen session, during which the right-hander used all of his pitches. German is expected to throw another side session within the next few days, and if all goes well, he could take the next step forward in his recovery from a strained shoulder by facing hitters. German looks on track to return from the 10-day injured list before the end of the season, though he likely won't have enough time to build up for a starting role.
