Manager Aaron Boone said LeMahieu (toe) could be activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
According to Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger, Boone said as recently as last week that LeMahieu likely won't be 100 percent healthy whenever he's eventually activated, but the 34-year-old has apparently made enough progress in his recovery from the sprained right second toe that the Yankees feel comfortable ushering him back in the fold. If LeMahieu isn't able to play Wednesday, he'll almost certainly be activated for New York's upcoming series against the Orioles this weekend. The veteran infielder owns a .262/.358/.381 slash line on the season.
