The White Sox optioned Burger to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.
Since receiving his first big-league call-up July 2, Burger had been seeing semi-regular at-bats as a third baseman and designated hitter. He appeared in 15 games, going 10-for-38 (.263 average) with a home run and three RBI across 42 plate appearances. Playing time was about to become more elusive for Burger with the White Sox welcoming back Eloy Jimenez (pectoral) from the 60-day injured list Monday, so the rookie will head back to Charlotte in order to play on an everyday basis.
