The White Sox reinstated Jimenez (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.
Jimenez will serve as the designated hitter and bat third for the White Sox Sunday's series finale against the Tigers. The 27-year-old was placed on the IL on May 22 due to a left hamstring strain but was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on June 13. After going 8-for-18 with one double, one home run and five RBI over his six games, Jimenez has now been cleared to rejoin the big club. He should settle back in right away as the White Sox's everyday designated hitter, likely pushing Gavin Sheets into a reserve role as a result.
