Montgomery is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
The rookie outfielder started the previous 10 games but will get a day to reset after batting .133 (4-for-30) during that stretch. Brenton Doyle will start in center field Sunday, pushing Tristan Peters to right in place of Montgomery.
