McCaughan cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday.
McCaughan was bumped from the 40-man roster Tuesday after appearing in three games while covering 5.1 innings with the Twins. He was effective in limited opportunity, so it's possible he gets his roster spot back later in the summer.
