The Tigers recalled Madden from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday.
With Kyle Finnegan (groin) moving to the injured list, the Tigers will turn to Madden to replenish their bullpen depth. The 26-year-old has actually been more effective with the big club this season (3.46 ERA, 1.08 WHIP) than he has been in the minors (4.44 ERA, 1.53 WHIP), though he isn't likely to receive many high-leverage opportunities down the stretch.
