Cabrera is out of the lineup Wednesday against the White Sox, Anthony French of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Cabrera's surgically repaired ankle flared up following Tuesday night's game, so he'll be held out Wednesday as a precaution. Cabrera, who may be available in a pinch hitting capacity, is hitting .333 with 15 RBI and five home runs in 99 August at-bats.
