Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Knee injury not a major concern

Cabrera (knee) is not expected to be dealing with a long-term ailment, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports.

Cabrera was forced out of Sunday's game early due to what was later revealed as a left knee contusion. According to manager Brad Ausmus, Cabrera "got hit right in the nerve and it sent pain down his leg." This explains Cabrera's need to exit the game, but is also in line with the assertion that this is not a long-term concern. That being said, it wouldn't be too surprising to see Cabrera get a precautionary maintenance day, so his status is worth checking up on prior to Monday's lineup lock.
