Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera went yard on Saturday for his 12th home run of the season. His fifth-inning home run, a two-run shot, got the scoring started for Detroit and gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead, on their way to a 7-1 victory over the White Sox.
It was Cabrera's only hit of the game, but he has now hit safely in seven of his last eight games.
"I thought Miggy's home run kind of let everyone breathe a little easier," manager Brad Ausmus said, per MLB.com. "We've been waiting for this for a long time."
