Urena (groin) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Urena has been on the injured list since July 17 due to right groin tightness, and he'll return to game action exactly one month after he sustained the injury. The right-hander resumed mound work last week, and his rehab assignment will allow him to build up his pitch count. However, the Tigers haven't yet indicated when Urena will be cleared to rejoin the major-league club.
