Torres is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.
Torres started in each of the Tigers' last three games and went 6-for-14 with six runs scored in those contests, but he'll retreat to the bench for the series finale. The veteran infielder is likely to handle more of a part-time role over the final few weeks of the season while the Tigers open up more playing time for rookies Hao-Yu Lee and John Peck.
