Dingler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Dingler will be rested for the matinee after he started behind the plate in each of the Tigers' last three games while going 1-for-12. Eduardo Valencia will handle catching duties in the series finale in Kansas City.
