Royals' Christian Colon: Slugs first career homer

Colon went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Thursday's 14-5 loss to the A's.

Colon connected for his first career home run in the bottom of the ninth as part of a five-run inning for Kansas City, but it was too little, too late in terms of the score. It took Colon 322 plate appearances over three seasons to go deep for the first time, but he made it count by doing it with two men on base. Since debuting at .333/.375/.489 in 2014, Colon has seen all three slash stats decrease as his playing time has increased. Even after Thursday's homer, he's still batting just .234 with a .585 OPS.
