Freeman cleared waivers Saturday and was sent outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Freeman has slashed just .247/.317/.314 across 288 plate appearances with the Rockies this season, and he'll likely play out the remainder of the season at Triple-A after passing through waivers unclaimed. His 40-man roster spot was filled by Vimael Machin, who was selected to the active roster Saturday.
