Rockies' Lucas Gilbreath: Picks up second win

Gilbreath (2-1) allowed a walk and struck out one in two-thirds of an inning to earn the win Friday versus Washington.

Gilbreath loaded the bases with a walk and allowed an inherited runner from Jhoulys Chacin to score on a fielder's choice before ending the eighth inning. In the ninth, Colorado retook the lead, putting Gilbreath in line for his second win of the year. The southpaw has not been charged with a run in his last 14.2 innings, allowing five hits and seven walks while ringing up 14 strikeouts in that span. He has a 3.79 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 36:20 K:BB in 35.2 innings overall while adding a save and three holds.
