Rusin holds a 3.72 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 8.4 K/9 over 19.1 innings since coming off the disabled list in late July.
Rusin has performed much better as a reliever this season than as a starter, but the increased strikeout rate certainly comes as a surprise for a hurler with a career K/9 of 6.0. The most impressive metric is the fact that the left-hander hasn't allowed a home run at Coors Field since returning. If he can keep this up, he'll have a good chance of garnering a larger role in the Rockies pitching staff going forward into next season, especially if his success transfers into his starts.
