Benson accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Louisville after clearing waivers Wednesday.
Benson is no longer a member of the Reds' 40-man roster, but he'll remain in the organization as outfield depth at Triple-A. Cincinnati designated the 28-year-old for assignment last week after he produced a .188/.310/.333 slash line with three home runs, one stolen base, six RBI and 11 runs over 51 games with the big club this season.
