The Reds optioned Vilade to Triple-A Louisville on Friday.
Vilade was called up by Cincinnati in late June and saw the field once as a defensive replacement during his brief time in the majors. The 26-year-old played in seven major-league games for St. Louis earlier in the campaign prior to being claimed by the Reds and went 1-for-13 with two walks, a run and five strikeouts.
