Cincinnati placed Hayes (groin) on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Aug. 27.
Hayes will return to the IL for the second time this season after previously being sidelined due to a back injury from late May to early July. Hayes has had a rough 2026 season, slashing .153/.213/.250 with five homers and eight RBI over 211 plate appearances. The Reds recalled Edwin Arroyo to replace Hayes on the active roster.
