Turner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
Turner looks to be getting a well-deserved veteran's day off after he had started at either first base or designated hitter in each of Boston's last 18 games. Masataka Yoshida will get a chance to rest his legs as Boston's DH rather than playing his usual spot in left field while Turner rests.
